bedelia LOWRENCEV
Bedelia is a groovy, disabled performer, dancer, and theatre maker from Western Sydney. Currently, she is Artist in Residence at PYT Fairfield, and being mentored by adventurous creator, Felicity Nicol. She is in the second development of her work, Collision- a multidisciplinary theatre work about the intersection of the Queer and Disabled experience explored through the experimental physical discipline of AusLan Choreography. Since wrapping up her mentorship with Anthea Williams, Bedelia has most recently worked with choreographer, Riana Head-Toussaint for 'In Situ' for Sydney Festival, and the social media frenzy, 'All That I am Right Now' with FORM Dance Projects.
JAYDEN SELVAKUMARASWAMY
Jayden is an Ensemble leader and artist of The House That Dan Built. She has trained as a classical ballet dancer for ten years, and also has been vocally trained since she was eight. She was a vocalist in Sydney Chamber Opera’s world premier of The Howling Girls in 2018 & 2019 for Tokyo Festival. She performed in the chorus of Angelica Mesiti’s work ASSEMBLY for the Venice Biennale 2019. Jayden has been a core ensemble member of The House since 2014 and continues to explore the female voice and its development over time through music.
SCARLETT GIBSON-WILLIAMS
Scarlett Gibson-Williams is young aspiring singer, songwriter, and performer. From a young age Scarlett heavily involved herself in performing arts, taking part in everything from ATYP classes and workshops, learning theatre skills with Natalie Richards, and taking vocal and violin lessons. At the end of 2020, Scarlett became part of the performance ensemble at The House that Dan Built. Since joining the ensemble she has wanted to fully immerse herself in the ensemble, and jumps at any opportunity to work with other artists and put some of her own work out there.
SYLVIE MAREE
Sylvie is a vocalist, song writer and multi instrumentalist based in Sydney, Australia. She is now into her third year with The House that Dan Built, having performed with the Toy Choir and Tender Young Creatures. Sylvie is a creative artist and performer who has enjoyed her involvement with ATYP, NIDA, The NSW Arts Unit Drama Ensemble, and her role as Principal Cellist with Petersham Public School Strings. Sylvie is the youngest member of The House Performance Ensemble and is excited to be working with this diverse and talented group of female artists.
KITTU HOYNE
Kittu Hoyne is a singer and performer based in Sydney, trained in classical voice, with a background in contemporary and classical dance and the Suzuki actor training. She performed with Opera Australia as the second spirit in Opera Australia’s The Magic Flute originally directed by Julie Taymor with a full season at the Sydney Opera House. She has performed in Sydney Chamber Opera’s world premiere opera The Howling Girls, directed by Adena Jacobs and composed by Damien Ricketson wth a season at Carriageworks in 2018 and Tokyo Festival in 2019. As a member of the all female ensemble The House that Dan Built, directed by Danielle O’Keefe, Kittu with ensemble members devised and performed the show Tender Young Creatures and SALT with seasons at Carriageworks and Bondi Pavilion. Kittu is one of the selected performers who will be singing and performing in the video artwork ASSEMBLY representing Australia at the 2019 Venice Biennale, directed by Angelica Mesiti.
DEBORAh kam
Deborah Kam is a singer and performer from Sydney. Her passion for singing grew from singing in the shower as a child. Since, they have been a participant in school choir for three years, and performed at In Concert in 2018 and 2019. Since joining The House, Deborah has been trained in Suzuki.
AMÉLIE JAMES-POWER
Amélie is a student at Newtown High school of Performing Arts. She is in the School Drama Company and is studying Accelerated Drama and Entertainment Industry as part of her HSC. Her performance history really began when she was just nine, and was cast as swing for three orphan roles in a UK touring production of Annie. She went on to win the New Zealand Aria singing competition for her age group, two years running, and performed in the children’s choir for Opera Australia’s Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci. Amélie has also been a part of ATYP productions including: Wonderfly (2017), Bathory Begins (2019) and is currently working on Lights In The Park (2021). She is also currently singing and performing in Salt, directed by Danielle O’Keefe with The House that Dan Built, which she has been a part of since 2018.
TALLULAH simpson
Tallulah has loved performing arts since a young age, first with piano and theory lessons at AMS from age 7 and completing AMEB Theory and Piano exams (grade 5) and performing with The House’s ‘Toy Choir', Tallulah has also performed in a professional production with Pinchgut Opera in Handel’s Athalia at City Recital Hall in June 2018. Since beginning The House Apprenticeship this year she has honed her skills in performing and teaching, gaining industry experience at The House in The Mother Project, SALT 360, REVERENCE, BAGATELLE and performing with The Houses Performance Ensemble since 2020.
CLARA LEE
Clara is an actor and singer from Inner West Sydney. She is a graduate from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical Singing. She first took singing lessons at age 14 and was a chorus member for several musicals and plays during high school. She has also taken piano and guitar lessons.
After several years' break from music, Clara auditioned for The House That Dan Built in order to rekindle her passion for singing. Since joining, she hopes to rebuild her confidence to audition for more vocal roles and to sing more often. As the eldest member of the ensemble, she believes that it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams.
Clara is also an advocate for giving equal opportunities to people with chronic illnesses and mental health conditions.
FREYA MOORE
Freya Moore is a Sydney based actor and singer, recently graduating from NIDA’s Diploma of Stage and Screen Performance in 2021. Freya has performed at the Opera House, NIDA and many other community theatres around Sydney. This year she has been in Hydrarchos during NIDA’s Festival of Emerging Artists, and Things I Know To Be True at The Theatre of Chester. This is her first project with The House That Dan Built.
